Nevertheless, tourists fond of nightclubs and vibrant nightlife will be delighted. The region is also suitable for golf enthusiasts as well as those who like to go on excursions to discover the enchanting places of Andalusia.

Malaga, the capital of the Costa del Sol, offers lively neighborhoods and a typical Mediterranean landscape with its beaches, port, and surrounding hills. Be sure to visit the Picasso Museum, the birthplace of the famous painter, and stop at the Malaga market, one of the most colorful in Andalusia.

Best Tourist Attractions you Must See in Malaga

There are many reasons to visit the city of Malaga: beaches, museums, history or culture. Each area of the city offers a unique atmosphere for relaxation, so we decided to help you decide where to stay in Malaga.

The port of Malaga offers many attractions, restaurants, bars, and shops with wonderful views of the city. The Alborania Museum is a great place to visit, especially with children, to explore the marine life in this part of the Mediterranean, in particular the Alboran Sea. Also in the port of "Muelle Uno" is the colorful Pompidou Center, which displays permanent and temporary exhibitions of French art and culture.

A well-known, albeit controversial, tradition in Spain is bullfighting. The bullring is also located in the Malagueta area. In addition to bullfighting, this arena hosts various concerts and events. You can take a tour of the arena and learn more about the history of bullfighting.

The center of contemporary art in Malaga is Soho. Rent an apartment in Soho and stroll the streets of the area, enjoying graffiti and art by renowned street artists such as Obey or D * Face. In Soho, you can also visit the CAC (Center for Contemporary Art), which hosts many temporary exhibitions and many cultural events.

Malaga beach

Malaga's beaches are constantly improving and expanding, local authorities take care of tourists, coming up with useful initiatives. So, recently, free distribution of disposable ashtrays was organized here.

- modern, located right within the city - these are the beaches related to the Costa del Sol ("Coast of the Sun"), located in the south of Malaga. They attract, first of all, those tourists who are not afraid of crowds, in return receiving all the advantages of urban infrastructure.

- authentic beaches, with palm trees, parrots and piers, cafes, and fish restaurants - they are located in the eastern regions of the province. Not so crowded, they cannot always offer European comfort, but they have an amazing atmosphere - sitting in a beach cafe and watching the sunset, you will think that the sails of a pirate frigate are about to appear on the horizon.

Hotels near Malaga airport

Malaga Airport, or Malaga - Costa del Sol, is one of the busiest airports in Spain after Madrid, Barcelona, and Palma de Mallorca. Also named after the famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.

The airport is located 8 km from Malaga and serves the Costa del Sol resort, taking and departing flights to more than 60 countries. In 2015 alone, its passenger traffic amounted to more than 14 million passengers. The appearance of a second runway in 2012 has significantly increased the airport's capacity.

The airport has three interconnected passenger terminals, as well as cargo and General Aviation terminals.

Malaga City Centre Hotels

The streets of the historical center of Malaga are narrow and winding, without a navigator or a map, it is easy to get lost and get off at the same place where you came from. Here and there you can find old historical buildings, museums, and cathedrals, as well as small squares. The most visited street in Malaga is Calle Marqués de Larios, which is home to many brand shops and boutiques. It originates from the Constitution Square - the main square of the old center.

On the way to the square, on the right side, you can see the tower of the main cathedral of the city, the Cathedral of the Incarnation, the construction of which began in 1528 and was completed already in 1782. Malaga Cathedral is considered the pearl of the Renaissance in the whole of Andalusia.

To the left of the central entrance to the cathedral is the Bishop's Palace. It is currently a Spanish cultural heritage site. The palace building was erected in 1762.

There is a well-tended orange garden next to the cathedral.

The center of Malaga has a place to relax, not to rush, after a walk under the scorching sun, fall on a restaurant chair in the shade, and enjoy a traditional dish - paella
